Quality Control of field data and initial processing of 2D and 3D seismic exploration data

The GeoSeisQC software is designed to control the seismic exploration works and estimate the seismic data quality.

Primary data analysis

Reading field data in the formats SEG-D, SEG-B, SEG-Y, CST
Data visualisation with customized parameters; viewing the spectre in the window; viewing the seismic trace header
Work with SPS-files; automatic generation of geofile, libraries of coordinates, a-priori static corrections for 3D data. Visualisation of 2D and 3D observation systems. Viewing the bin fields with 3D grid parameters set , coverage map viewing
2D and 3D data geometrization
Selection of a priori velocity law, a priori muting, filter parameters

Primary processing

For primary processing, there is a number of modules providing input of statics and kinematics, band filtering, reject filtering, muting filtering, deconvolution, dynamic gain control, input of spherical divergence coefficient, and other functions.

Quality evaluation programs

Efficient evaluation of quality. Definition of the signal-to-microseism ratio with tables and plots
Program of quality evaluation by frequencies and amplitudes
Program for calculation of seismic records attributes in the time window set by the user. The record is divided into good signal and noise. Calculation of average level of the signal, noise, singal/noise ratio and other parameters. The results are provided as a table and graphically. For 3D data, there is a possibility to create a parameter map for this time window.

There is a number of additional programs providing correct work of GeoSeisQC:

Program for file sorting. The program sorts files by several header words in increasing or decreasing order of their values
Program for automatic creation of 2D geometry libraries, a priori statics library and standard SPS files from operator's report and topographical data
Program for creating and editing palette files

System requirements

To make the software function, a x86-compatible computer with installed Linux OS and XWindow (XFree86) environment is required. It is recommended to use a CPU not lower than PIII-500 and not less than 128 Mb of RAM. The main requirement to the graphical subsystem is its correct functioning in XFree86 environment.
