GEOSTORE

Data transcription:

GeoStore is able to receive data from a various types of drives: magnetic tapes, HDD, DVD, CD etc. Before executing of QC-procedures GeoStore checks if input data is in encapsulated form. The encapsulation forms which are recognized by GeoStore are the following: RODE (RP66), TIF (Tape Image Format), STAGE (CGGV formats), Kelman, Lacey, Vanguard (Kanadian formats). 408HD and 428HD Sercel formats also can be taken as input and reformatted to the appropriate output form. Making deencapsulation GeoStore retrieves the data into its original form which is ready for QC

Implementing rules of data correspondence:

  • First of all GeoStore applies smart algorithm of input seismic data type recognition and makes the conclusion if data corresponds to the supported seismic (or some additional) formats described in the chart above.
  • Checking seismic headers (mainly SEG-Y and SEG-D). GeoStore analyses if all mandatory attributes are present and if their values are in acceptable bounds.
  • Checking seismic traces headers. GeoStore analyses the mandatory attributes of trace headers and checks their values correspondence to General headers attributes values.
  • GeoStore puts the attributes of seismic data and Seismic Headers into its own database and is able to retrieve them at any moment in the future. The retrieving mechanism is developed as xml-controlled scheme. So user may have a chance to make sure that data corresponds to exactly-defined seismic format revision (data revision correspondence Quality Control).

Data reading and input media Quality Control:

GeoStorehas a possibility to make bit-by-bit comparison of input and output data. The software retrieves the data in row-form from both streams:input media and data storage. Geostore then compares every bit of input and output data streams and makes a conclusion if input data corresponds to the output on lowest (binary) level. GeoStore fixes media errors(if detected) and defines insufficient bytes.

The configuration mechanisms of GeoStoreallow to set the viewers for transcribed seismic data (SEG-Y) in order to implement visual Quality Control of data

GeoStore contains flexible mechanism of executing command line utilities as the modules of GUI interface. Having XML-configurable external-tools model it is possible to integrate outside command-line programs for input media Quality control and the QC of transcribed data.

QC results into the database and output QCed data into the Data Storage. After the QC stages and transcription GeoStore puts seismic attributes and described QC stages results into the database. Output transcribed data is put to the Data Storage to be able to be retrieved at any moment for additional QC operations or other reasons (processing, interpretation etc.

Loading to PetroVision. GeoStore is integrated with PetroVision loading modules. Once you have selected the appropriate GeoStore's database records, flexible mechanism of data preparation for loading may have been applied. Finally GeoStore creates an "in-file" which can be loaded by Lu Tool (PetroVision Loader) directly to PetroVision database.

More info about GeoStore you can find from this brochure (Adobe PDF, size is about 0.4 MB).
